Melvin Nilsson signs with Linköping HC
Our client Melvin Nilsson has signed a junior contract with Linköping Hockey Club through the spring of 2028 — a clear reflection of his strong development and growing establishment in the SHL environment.
The 19-year-old defenseman has taken significant steps forward this season and made a strong impression within the senior setup. Melvin made his SHL debut on November 15 in an away game against Färjestad and recorded his first SHL point on November 27 at home against Brynäs, assisting on the opening goal of the game. To date, he has appeared in 12 SHL games and trains regularly with the first team.
Melvin has quickly adapted to the pace and demands of senior hockey, demonstrating a direct, simple, and physical playing style from the blue line, combined with strong hockey sense and maturity in his decision-making.
TJ Sports comment:
We are extremely proud of Melvin’s journey and the progress he continues to show on a daily basis. Earning a role in the SHL at just 19 years of age requires both character and work ethic — qualities that truly define Melvin. This contract represents an important step forward, and we look forward to continuing to support him in the next phase of his career together with Linköping Hockey Club.
Congratulations, Melvin — we’re excited for what’s ahead! 🤝
